New Media Party notes
It’s odd to have a party that you didn’t record - and I’m glad we didn’t, because people can talk more freely - but doing the “show notes” for the party afterwards is tougher. Here’s what I can remember:
+ Linksys WRT54G router hacking
+ WDS cloud creation
+ Pimsleur language series
+ Backyard ballistics
+ Force FX lightsabers
+ Heart sutra
+ Marathon monks of Mt. Hiei
+ Senior master instructor Stephen K. Hayes
+ Indian sweat lodges
+ The Web 2.0 compliance toolkit: rounded corners, delicious tags, missing vowels, large logo with reflection
+ Wordpress plugins from Alex King
Partygoers:
+ CC Chapman: Accident Hash, U-Turn Cafe, Managing the Gray
+ Steve Garfield: Vlog Soup, Off on a Tangent, Rocketboom, New England Stories
+ Bre Pettis: MAKE magazine, I Make Things, We are the Media, Rocketboom
+ Kristen Crusius: Exploit Boston, NEIA
+ Bryan Person: Bryper.com, New Comm Road, CaseCamp
+ Ted Demopoulos: Blogging for Business, What No One Ever Tells You About Blogging and Podcasting
+ John Wall: The M Show, Ronin Marketeer, AccuRev
+ Christopher Penn: The Financial Aid Podcast, Student Loan Network, SKH Quest
People and places:
+ Crayonville
+ Video on the Net
+ VON Boston, VON San Jose, VON Stockholm
+ Jeff Pulver
+ Matthew Ebel
+ Geoff Smith
+ Kevin Reeves
+ Laura Clapp
+ PodCamp Boston

Show notes from a party? I love it!
Thank you again for everything last night. Not a night I’m going to forget anytime soon.
Just uploaded some photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/cc_chapman/tags/newmediaparty/ from the night.

[...] It was a nice night of drinks, munchies, chat and some powerful goal setting. There are even “show notes” from the night. I just uploaded my pictures here including the one above with Steve Garfield striking an “Eric Rice” as he called it. [...]

[...] I’d like to publicly thank Christopher Penn for hosting a get together on Saturday night that was very cool. I took part in a ceremony with a 2,500 year old history, and got to meet Bre Pettis who does video for Make Magazine, which I’ve been a fan of since Issue 1 after having met Phil Torrone at Gnomedex. (How’s that for rockin’ the linx in the shizzow notes, fool! Damn, I’m so street!). Plenty of cool stuff coming up this week, off we go! [...]
